sweet trends: detachable collar necklaces
Do you ever see something in a runway show or fashion magazine and think -yeah okay. Sometimes I just can’t visualize the transition from runway model to everyday girl who’s headed out to pick up her dry cleaning. That pretty much sums up how I felt about the detachable collar, first appearing by Miu Miu and being absurdly expensive.
Sure I thought it was a cute and different approach to an accessory (shirt?), but I just couldn’t see it catching on. And then, just like that, real girls started wearing them. Now they come in a range or prices, and appear to be a versatile accessory. I still don’t think I would shell out several hundreds of dollars just to be able to detach my collar from my shirt, but I do think some of the more reasonable options are worth a second look. Especially since the trend has branched out and several collars have more of a necklace-y feel to them. Here are some of my favorite collars/collar necklaces.
