Take a regular muffin and add a cinnamon-sugar topping, and you’ve got something pretty delicious. Add a surprise nutella filling and you’ve got something that’s even better than delicious. Which is hard to come by. Plus these muffins are easy, don’t require a mixer, and can be sneakily eaten for breakfast since they are technically muffins. All wins in my book. Recipe is below!
Nutella in the center of each muffin tin. I used a generous amount of nutella for obvious reasons.
Brush the tops of each muffin with melted butter.
Add the cinnamon/sugar mixture.
Nutella stuffed cinnamon-sugar muffins:
Mix dry ingredients in a bowl:
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 tspn salt
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 tspns baking powder
- 1 tspn cinnamon
- 1/2 tspn nutmeg
Add the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients:
- 1 large egg
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 tspn vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
Pour the wet ingredients over the dry and mix until just combined. Fill 8 muffin cups 1/2 way. Add nutella to the center and cover with the remaining batter. Bake on 375 degrees for 15 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow muffins to cool then brush the tops with melted butter. Dip into cinnamon/sugar mixture to coat the tops. Enjoy!
