{coral maxi skirt- 4 different ways}

 Usually the month of May crawls along at a snails pace and I am counting the seconds until Memorial Day weekend.  These past few weeks have been so busy that the 3 day weekend snuck up on me!  I was up late last night packing for our getaway (we’re heading down to Bethany Beach, DE).  Keep your fingers crossed for nice weather.  I hope this weekend you will be enjoying some time with friends, a nice BBQ, and most importantly a Monday off from work!  Stay tuned next week when I’ll complete my 4 days, 4 ways series by styling my little white dress four different ways.  Have fun!

Ever since writing this post on unexpected color combinations, I’ve been waiting to pair coral and yellow.  I love color-blocking especially with bright, springtime shades.  Since both of these pieces are from the Loft, the styles really go together perfectly.  Today is the last day of styling this coral skirt so I hope you enjoyed all the looks!  Next up, my last week of the series styling my new (and favorite) little white dress.

I’m pretty sure people think maxi skirts are dressy.  I feel like the odd man out because I actually find most of them pretty casual.  Kinda like a lightweight blanket you just wrap around your waist and call it an outfit.  For those of you who find them dressy, this look is a way to make them more casual.  Pair them with a basic tee, a lightweight pullover sweater, and flat shoes.  For those of you like me who tend to feel like they’re a little more casual, consider this your super laid back look.

I wore this outfit on Mother’s Day when I had my family over for brunch.  After a full day of being the hostess, my skirt was certainly a little wrinkled, but my family was full and happy.

When I originally tried on this skirt in the store I was wearing this top.  I couldn’t wait for the weather to get warm enough to pair them together in a pretty peach/coral combo.  The colors just make me feel like summer!

Welcome to week 3 of my 4 days, 4 ways series!  This week I will show you four different options for styling my coral maxi skirt.  I was originally looking for a coral maxi skirt with pleats, but when I found this one at the LOFT, I fell in love.  It has a subtle slit making it such a fun piece for summer.  I’ve been wearing it non-stop.  I hope you like the ways I’ve styled it.  Happy Monday!

This is my favorite outfit of the white jeans series this week, mainly because I love all of these pieces individually.  I’m obsessed with this tank because of the cute back tie and soft material.  The sweater is one of my favorites, and the jeans… well obviously this week has shown you I love my white skinnies.  I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing all the different ways I styled them!  Next up in 4 days, 4 ways: my coral maxi skirt.

Like most girls, I love the combination of florals and stripes and thought I was getting real creative by putting the florals on my feet.  I love these shoemint heels because they’re are such a flattering shape.  They actually go with a lot more than I originally thought when I ordered them.

As for my hair, my apologies.  I didn’t realize till after I looked at these pictures that it could really have used a good brushing.  I was going for beachy waves and wound up with something a little closer to ratty tangles.  What can I say… happens to the best of us.

If you’ve been reading this blog for a while you might be thinking something like… man this girl loves coral.  Doesn’t she own any other colors?  The answer is yes, I do own other colors and no I don’t like them as much as I like coral (see here, here & here).  It’s my favorite color (to wear) of all time.  I just feel like it goes with my skin and hair.  It took me a while to realize that not ever color I like on the rack is going to be a good match with my overall coloring.  I used to just scoop up everything I thought was cute but now I try to really pay attention to those things.  That’s a real sign of growing up right there, wouldn’t you say?

This outfit is first up this week in my “4 days, 4 ways” series.  Let’s talk about these white skinny jeans shall we?  I love them for multiple reasons but mainly because they go with almost everything in my closet.  The only down side…?  My absolute dread to eat anything while wearing them for fear of stains.  I actually went to a Mexican place for lunch in this outfit and ate a churro with chocolate sauce.  I managed to keep them clean right up until the last bite.  Word to the wise, if you’re going to wear white jeans, always carry a Tide to-go pen.
