A few weeks ago I did a major closet overhaul. I always reorganize with each passing season, but this time I forced myself to get rid of a lot. By the end I had a huge bag for donations and as a result, a much leaner selection of clothes. Ever since then getting ready has been so much easier and faster. Not only because there’s less to choose from, but the pieces still hanging in my closet are quality and can be worn many different ways. I know everyone says quality over quantity when it comes to clothes, but it really is true. And quality doesn’t have to mean expensive! This shirt from the Gap was bought a few years ago on sale, and has literally been worn fifty different ways.
As someone who has spent hours (and I mean hours) standing in front of an overstuffed closet and whining about not having anything to wear, take my advice. Use this spring to slim down the closet and with it, the getting ready stress! Or you could always install one of those rotating closets like Cher from Clueless. All these years later, and that’s still my closet dream.
H&M pants (similar), LOFT top, J.Crew scarf, Gap shoes, Tory Burch bag
I wore this casual outfit to work, but I wanted to share it because I was loving the color combination. I was inspired by this pinterest image to wear burgundy with a bright, stand out color. I thought the colors came together so well and matched my favorite scarf. I also really love these color block flats I scored at the Gap outlet for $12. I’ve been wearing them to work non-stop. Lots of plans this weekend for me…I hope you have a good one! xo
I’ve been wearing this dress all summer strictly as a bathing suit cover-up. It didn’t occur to me until recently to belt it and wear it as an actual dress (duh). Now I feel like I added a summer dress to my closet without having to buy anything. It’s the same feeling as discovering something in the back of your closet (or in my case a bin under the bed), that you’ve forgotten about. Then, you feel like you have something new without having to spend any money. That’s my kind of shopping.
Also, who else is pumped for H&M’s online ordering site? I’ve been consistently annoyed by them not having an online site for years! Thank you H&M for joining my world of online shopping.
Welcome to week 3 of my 4 days, 4 ways series! This week I will show you four different options for styling my coral maxi skirt. I was originally looking for a coral maxi skirt with pleats, but when I found this one at the LOFT, I fell in love. It has a subtle slit making it such a fun piece for summer. I’ve been wearing it non-stop. I hope you like the ways I’ve styled it. Happy Monday!
So far this has been a Crazy week…capital C. It felt so weird not posting yesterday. I don’t think I’ve missed a day since I started the blog 9 months ago! But alas I was having some issues (technology…grr…) and have been so busy this week I didn’t have a chance to properly sort them out. Don’t worry though I’m back today with a double whammy! First, this lovely little emsemble with touches of pink everywhere. Sometimes I just need to wear pink to get me through the week. Second, I am starting a new series on the blog tomorrow. I’m excited about it, hopefully it will help you with some summer outfit ideas! Thank goodness tomorrow is Friday. Have a great day! xo
Sometimes I buy things and I don’t know how I ever lived my life without them. I know usually that is said about people entering your life, and I am referencing a striped dress and mint blazer but bear with me. I’m the kind of person who can get very stressed when I feel like I have “nothing” to wear. Having two staple pieces, like this easy to wear dress and this adorable mint blazer just seem to make getting dressed easier. Which in turn makes my life easier, and I am all about life being easy.
I wore this to my friend’s bridal shower last weekend, and shared another shower worthy look yesterday, but I also think these looks (one & two) would make great options.
I am thrilled to be doing another collaboration to bring you all a second trend I am loving for spring (see my first post on statement blazers with Rachelhere). Today I’m collaborating with Erin from Currently Coveting. We wanted to show off two ways to wear peplum, since it is such a cute trend that can transition easily into your spring wardrobe.
I love Erin’s blog for her fun writing style, cute outfits, and great shopping tips. Here she is rocking a peplum skirt with some amazing spiky heels. I paired my peplum zip jacket with a floral skirt I bought a while ago at H&M. I’ve been wearing this jacket with everything from jeans to dresses. It actually goes with much more than I originally thought. Make sure you hop on over to Erin’s blog to see her full post and the details to her fabulous outfit!
