forgotten inspiration

I racked my brain to remember where I got inspired for this outfit but it just wouldn’t come to me.  It could have been on pinterest, or one of the other trillion blogs I read per day, or from the constantly revolving closet of outfits that’s always turning in my head.  Regardless, I woke up and something was telling me to pair a black & white blazer with colored jeans and caramel colored accents. This was clearly the result.  While this may not be the most exciting story of how an outfit came to be, blogging about your clothes can’t always be glamorous (as I said here).

hat with a bow

On top: Red Haute sweater (similar ) On bottom:Citizens of Humanity skinnies In-between: hat via Bloomingdale’s outlet(similar), Scarf from boutique in Spain, Michael Kors watch, Modern Vintage boots, Urban Outfitters bag, Revlon raspberry pie lipstick

I used to steer clear of hats since I have a fairly small head and I always felt funny wearing them.  Ever since trying them out here, I have been a little hat obsessed.  Not only are they a cute way to add some depth to an otherwise simple outfit, but they keep you warm too!  I took these pictures in the Finger Lakes, where it was quite chilly, so I was happy to have this stylish bow hat to keep my head nice and toasty.  I wish every background for pictures could be this pretty!  It was so beautiful driving along the lake and stopping at all the wineries.  I definitely want to go back in the summer when it is warm enough to do more walking around.

fall florals

On Top: Madewell tank with Splendid vest On Bottom: H&M skirt In-Between: Modern Vintage boots, Urban Outfitters bag and belt, Stella & Dot Renegade Cluster Necklace

I hate the idea that florals have to be reserved for the spring and summer months so I was very excited to find this floral skirt in H&M.  The fabric is thicker, making it perfect for fall or winter with tights and high boots.  I decided to pair it with all neutral colors since the yellow is so vibrant.  This is definitely a transitional item that can withstand the change of seasons.
